Real Horror Show act1. Short Exhibit is and hopefully will continue to be a an evolution of Horror art within a cluster of artist for every Edition created. This particular set is a small introduction to Horror styles not limited to gore but some of our more vivid B-movie and kinda childish themes as well. We try and bounce to different aspects of things which may or may not be scary but more entertaining as we go. Hope you like it!

Despite the fact that my time is always limited I still feel the need to do an extra project. Fletcher is fully underway and you may see updates early 2010. Its a good looking project in my opinion and when you see it I'll hope that you would agree. We will start promoting it later on next year in hopes to make it to print.
So in the gaps of time where I found myself doing only a job or two I try to throw in a 3d project. This originally started as one of those creepy industrial scenes and to be honest I think the end result wont be too far from that. Instead of adding a character that I had worked on briefly that was kinda scary look'n I've decided to shape this scene for a some what new character persona in the shape of a little boy named Pronto. I'll explain more about him as his life unfolds, just know that he seems to be finding a way into allot of my works.

Steampunk; Myths and Legends

Okay just entered another challenge (my entry work in progress) today called Steampunk; Myths and Legends I hope to do something amazing having never done that before its a strecth but hey why not I've got nothing to lose! But everything to gain so check out the challenge on CGTALK.COM and take a look at all the great artist there it's very inspiring!

I think I'll be doing my previz in 2d format before I jump into this as the last challenge went sour due to my overlooking the fine details. I will be using Maya predominately and I'm sure most of my render time will be consumed with Mental Ray so we'll see. Please check back often thanks!

Nearing the end of this project s time runs thin I've decided to leave the captain for another day a focus on what really matters so still got lots of work to do but getting closer none the less!

In this image I wanted to depict a moment in time where the cursed ghost ship could be seen charging through the ocean. I wanted to give the ship life through a steampunk eye and make it seem as though the ship and the ocean were in battle.This is my take on the Flying Dutchman and the metallic ocean in which it is cursed to sail forever.

Here is a more complete and at this point finished "but we'll see" image of Project Progress. The idea is that times are changing and things must evolve although I tried to show this through low grade technology like the gears and train.
All modeling and texture were done in Maya utilizing Mental Ray for rendering. Post work like saturation correction were done in Photoshop of course.

Got a new personal project here amongst many of course, and I wanted to show some of the steps I'm taking to get to my end result whatever that may be. All work is done in Maya which includes (modeling texturing and lighting) with some work in photoshop to create those textures. I'll be utilizing its popular Mental Ray to render everything.

Here I am coming up with some photo real textures to get the scene moving in the right direction, should be fun.

And here is an image of the scene in gray scale hope you like it!

SoCal Snakes Illustrations

Some new work done for a snake company called SoCal Snakes with some of the most phenomenal and rarest pythons and boas I have ever seen Here is the link to their web site http://www.socalsnakes.com check it out.

Here is the process I used to paint these images digitally adopted from an artist I admire James Jean. It may also be used by many other artist, I find it helps get the job done with ease.
